The work required a genuine understanding of Odia culture, its dialects, its art forms and the literary traditions the festival is built around. That understanding shaped the visual decisions, not just the content.
The logo for the Puri Literary Festival, crafted by Vackado, is a stunning confluence of divinity and intellect. At its heart stands the iconic Jagannath Temple shikhara, bold in red and gold, cradling the sacred Sudarshana Chakra (wheel of dharma), reimagined here as a symbol of the endless cycle of stories and wisdom. Flanking it are celestial vyala figures (mythical guardian beasts), while a regal pen-nib finial crowns the spire, a masterstroke that transforms a temple pinnacle into a writer's instrument. Below, the festival's name is written in expressive Odia script, grounding the identity in its literary and cultural roots. The palette of deep navy, crimson and gold radiates both heritage and grandeur, where Odisha's ancient soul meets the timeless power of the written word.
